When US President Trump announced his withdrawal from the Paris Agreement in Europe, the Chinese manufacturing industry is intensively discussing ways and research strategies to actively respond to climate and environmental changes.
Since the supply-side structural reforms were proposed in 2015, China's manufacturing industry has entered another round of reform journey. Different from the previous rounds, the reform of China's manufacturing industry is under great pressure. On the one hand, it is necessary to resolutely eliminate backward production capacity and upgrade technological innovation requirements. On the other hand, it is necessary to quickly connect with the Internet. More importantly, the “responsible” requirements have become more prominent in this round of reforms.
In December 2016, the State Council issued the “Notice on Printing and Implementing the Implementation Plan for the Extended Producer Responsibility System” to solve the environmental pollution problem of the manufacturing industry and the responsibility of stakeholders with the Chinese approach. In June 2017, China Federation of Industrial Economics held the “Responsible Made in China” 2017 China Industrial Enterprise Social Responsibility Report Conference to discuss the connotation of “responsible manufacturing” and arouse industry attention. At the same time, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology also promoted research on the topic of “Responsible Made in China”.
